Over the last two weeks, whenever I went to the market, I found that apricots and peaches are slowly appearing on the stands. For me, that’s like the ultimate sign that summer is just around the corner.
So this weekend I finally bought fresh apricots and worked them into a beautiful pie, following my dad’s recipe with an extra dash of rum!
Marillenkuchen is almost a tradition in my family. We have a big apricot tree growing in our garden, so there was no summer without pie in abundance.
Unfortunately, as both my flatmates were gone this weekend, I had to finish it all by myself. 😉
